Our rigorous training ensures we are up to date on fire fighting best practices, techniques, and most importantly safety for the members of our department and the community we serve.

Rescue
The Norlina Fire Department provides extrication services within its fire district along with providing services for neighboring districts. Whether it's Squad 20 or Engine 22 responding. There's always a chance that we could be heading to a vehicle collision. We are trained in Vehicle Rescue and our members are proficient in using spreading and cutting tools commonly known as "the jaws of life" to quickly extricate victims in accidents. While doing so, we are also providing first responder emergency medical treatment to provide the best possible care.

Norlina Fire Department has first responders that respond to many emergency medical related calls. Whether it's injuries sustained from an accident, or physical health emergencies, you'll likely see firefighters dispatched quickly and arriving first on scene. We are trained to get you the best care even before paramedics or advanced life support can arrive.

A company called the ISO (Insurance Services Office) creates ratings for fire departments and their surrounding communities. ... In the ISO rating scale, a lower number is better: 1 is the best possible rating and exemplary fire protection capabilities, while a 10 means the fire department did not meet the ISO's minimum requirements and indicates the capabilities, if any, are insufficient for insurance credit. The ratings calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in that community which is reported insurance companies. The lower the number the lower Our Citizen's Insurance premiums within our fire district is.
